This is a FAQ/walkthrough file for the adult [18+] PC game "Adam the Double
Factor". ADAM is translated by Himeya Soft and was a original product of C's
Ware. The game is partially uncensored.

This game has a sequel called Eve the Fatal Attraction. However, the chance
of this game coming to the US is well... close to nilch.

1. System Configuration Requirements

< Requirement >

English Microsoft Windows 95/98 (For DVD version, Windows 98 only)

Intel Pentium 100MHz processor (Recommend Pentium 166MHz)

Minimum 32MB RAM

HDD space 32MB

x 4 Speed CD-ROM or faster

Windows 95/98 and Direct-x compatible soud card

< Direct X >

DirectX 3.0 or later

< Installation >

Full installation requires approximately 300MB of HD space. It
automatically creates a shortcut on your Start Menu. You still need your
CDs for playing.

< Resolution >

Monitor that can display 32,000 colors with 640x480 resolution. I set mine
to 1024x768 and it works well. Unfortunately there is no window mode, which
means you have to play in full screen.

< Using Game Pad >

This is copied directly from the game's help file:

"ADAM THE DOUBLE FACTOR" You can also play a gamepad.

In use by the gamepad, a dialog will be displayed, if game CD of ADAM is
opened and "ADAMOPT.EXE" is started. Since two check boxes of "using a
gamepad" with "the case where trouble is in graphics" come out there, it
checks "using a gamepad" and functions by pushing O.K. button.

In the state where the setup of the gamepad itself is not performed normally,
if a game is started, cursor etc. cannot be controlled and a game may not
operate normally.

In case a gamepad is used, Direct Input (5.0 or more DirectX) is required.
Please check whether the version of DirectX installed in usage's personal
computer is five or more. When not installed, please install five or more.
In addition, DirectX6 is contained in "Directx6" folder in this game CD-ROM
(Disk2). Please install in a visitor's self-responsibility."

2. General Hints/Tips

This is a Multi-Sight ADV game. The game has a great mix of action,
suspense, mystery and like most of other Cs Ware products - blood and gore.
The game is divided into 2 scenarios consist of 2 different characters -
Kojiroh Amagi and Marina Hojoh. If you have played the prequel "Eve Burst
Error" before then you have an idea. Basically, you have to switch
between scenarios to see what's happening in the other episode playing in the
perspective of the other character. It is required to proceed the game in
some circumstances.

Basically, this game is full of clicking, if an item is 'highlighted' you can
click on them, but you can also click on the background, 'different areas' of
the characters and so on to progress in the game. For a detailed explanation,
check the Help file on the ADAM CD/DVD. You should get the hang of it very
easily without help though.

When saving/loading, you'll notice that there are 8 blocks (A-H) for each
characters to save/load. Try to keep your saves for both characters in the
same block. You can save anytime, anywhere baring during animation of course.

You can screen capture a graphic by pressing F10 on your keyboard, the file
will be saved as a bitmap and is located in the folder where ADAM is installed
to. (since it's in bitmap format, it will be big)

3. Characters

Most of this is directly taken from Character descriptions from the HELP file.

Kojiroh Amagi

Occupation: Pervert. No, I meant Detective. He usually takes on cases dealing
with lost cats and unfaithful wife. He is a person with a light attitude and
has frivolous language skills (mainly sex jokes), but he is very calm and cool
when he is doing his job. He doesn't show his emotions much because his eyes
are mostly covered by his hair. Somehow he is popular with the women (damn),
and he takes on any challenges that come his way.

Marina Hojoh

Agent of the "JCIA" (Public servant). Her emotion is passionate, and her
expression is comparatively clear. She has a sentimental side, too. She used
to wear clothing with high exposure, but now she looks very settled down
(Probably due to her changed personality). Her hobby is to fall in love (it
seems).

She is proud of her 99% mission success rate, and she is very confident with
her job. (She resigned 4 years ago when she couldn't protect one of her
clients)

Kyoko Himuro

Former "JES" agent. She started to work in Amagi Private Detective Office 2
years ago. She doesn't show her emotions very much, usually cool.

A very serious person and currently is Kojiroh's girlfriend. An expert in the
forging of documents and hacking.

"Vital" statistics: B:83 W:56 H:84

Saburo Kono

The Cabinet of Investigation's Chief, Marina's boss. He has a light attitude
and likes to joke around, but his sense of responsibility is very strong. Very
dependable in cases of emergency.

The incident of the "Lost One" caused the Cabinet of Investigation to become
one of the subordinate organizations of the JCIA. It seems that he has aged a
little.

Yayoi Katsuragi

Head of the Katsuragi Private Detective Office. She has a rough and man-like
personality, but she is very shy. She used to live with Kojiroh, but they have
been separated for about 1 year.

Heavy smoker.

Mika and Miki Ando

Twin sisters and Ando's 'daughters'. They look young for their age (Even
younger for their mental age). It seems that the older sister Mika being more
mature (rather weak) than the younger sister Miki is just the opposite
(violent). Their real background is a mystery.

4. Walkthrough

This isn't exactly a walkthrough since there are no vital decisions to make
in this game. However, regard this as an event/sequence log which guide
the day-by-day activity of the characters. It will probably save you some
time clicking on useless spots.

Kojiroh's scenario
- you start off in your office waiting for Himuro
- keep clicking until you see a woman (Ami) at the door
- Ami came to hire Kojiroh as her boss (Saemon Ando)'s bodyguard
- Himuro comes back, talk to her
- go outside (right click), go to other places (right click)

Available destinations
- Central Avenue
- Sun Apartments
- Ando Trading, CO.

- go to Central Avenue
- go inside bar
- you meet bartender dealing with a man
- talk to bartender
- go outside and leave

- talk to bartender to have him look at the gun

- go into her office
- go back to your office to talk to Himuro, then leave
- go to Suns Apartment, go to her room
- talk to Yayoi -> sex scene
- go to Ando's
- go to study room

5. Thoughts

This part contains my thoughts after finishing the game, and some of the
mysteries not answered that comes to mind. You can contribute your own

SPOILERS ALERT!!!

A. The 'What Ifs'

1. What if Marina managed to figure out the missing name was 'Ando',
then perhaps Ando, Ami, and the twins wouldn't be slaugtered?
2. What if Ami/Ando didn't keep the mission a secret to Kajiroh, then
he would have given them a helping hand since he had dealt with EVE
before.
3. What if the twins didn't kill Ando, would that have prevented their
own demise?

B. Questions Unanswered

a. Who is the rightmost person in that picture found in Yuka's house?
b. Who is ordering Preacher to kill EVEs?
c. Who is the mastermind behind capturing EVE?
d. Who is creating EVEs, the 'General'?
e. Who is this powerful EVE? Where is she?
f. Was the boy an EVE? How can a boy be EVE?
g. Who was that person spying on Marina and Yuka? Was it Hirai?
h. Could Ando possibly be hiding another EVE?

I guess most of these questions can only be answered in the sequel...

6. FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: How do you switch between scenarios?
A: When it's time to change scenario, SAVE your current one, then load
the other character's most recent save. Proceed from there, make
sure all of these are in the same block however.

Q: Is EVE The Fatal Attraction going to be translated?
A: Last I heard, Himeya closed their US office (?) So I really doubt it
will ever be translated unfortunately.

Q: Where can I buy this game?
A: shop.himeya.com is the recommended place.

Q: Why is this game half censored?
A: Good question. My guess is that they didn't have time to fully do
the 'unmasking' or they just left the job half done. I don't really
know.
