Error number UNO :) - 1) COPYRIGHT PROTECION ERROR - you had ableton but now when you open it, it comes up with an error about copyright violation etc.. and directs you to ableton website.
This is because there were various versions of the relases ... 6.0.1, 6.0.3, 6.0.6....etc ....
The last two (or three) i think were TEAM BEAT releases NOT AIR.... (the last air release was 6.0.7 ... so beat releases had patched .exe files that you had to replace and then to activate the products you had to enter some random number and any numbers worked .... THOSE versions were not properly cracked so after 30 days when the grace period was over the program locks itself up. it is to do with the initial exe file and the way it has been written to prevent copyright violations when i think the file checks itself and sees the difference in the code.
TO RESOLVE THIS DO THE FOLLOWING: UNINSTALL ALL ABLETON versions
then enable the option to see the hidden folders... then go
[C:] (where c is your system drive) /Documents And Settings/[Kurmiic] (where instead of kurmiic should be your username) /Application Data/Ableton and
delete the folder Ableton
For extra security you can do the same in C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data
THEN u can use CCleaner to scan your computer for orphaned registry entries and clean it. (don't worry CCleaner is free :) )
Now install this marvolous release and away you go :) (at least away yo SHOULD GO :) )

Error number DUO :) 2) When you doubleclick the install file you have some kind of access violation error with a number and you can't install it....
CONGRATULATIONS : you are screwed :) ..... this error hapens because AIR installers use a sound clip and a skin with animated sound bar thingie that moves .... also this error can come up if you use OLD windows blinds or other skinning software. You can try to add the install .exe file to the unskinable programs list (if you have one in your skinning program) The error happens becuause of one of Windows XP updates ... (i don't remember the number) basically it protects the arrears of memory use and doesn't allow some kind of access request or something :) these errors have been on AIR releases before as well so :( for you ..... you can try getting some additional updates ... (basically update everything you can even .net framework, xp and java etc .... ) maybe it sounds silly but what if ??? you can try uninstalling absolutely all updates as well :) silly isn't it ?? Sometimes this error appears out of thin AIR :) .... The option for you is to use ableton live 6.0.1 OR continue using BEAT releases ....
