Here's what you're looking for...
open up notepad
copy and paste this
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cisco Systems\Model]
"Hardware"="MCS7835"
"Memory"="1024"
"Speed"="733"
save as "make_mcs.reg" or whatever, then merge into the registry..
make sure sql 7 is loaded, then have fun loading callmanager
Hope this helps, this is what they do in classes alot for training purposes..

All:
There's also a switch that you can use. I think its /f, but I can't remember at the moment and I don't have a test box handy. Something like that, it bypasses the hardware checks altogether.

Hmm. I'm trying to install a Call Manager 3.0(2) and I've entered the above mentioned reg-keys. What is the next step.
If I run the stiCmSet.exe, it starts fine and allows me to enter information regarding config, but it doesn't continue to install the Call Manager.
Any suggestions on how to get things rolling?
Sincerly,
Peter

I tried the instructions above and did blast through the hardware check fine with no complaint.
I was able to get to the install screen with config parametrs and progress with installation but it stumbled at the end as I did not have SQL server 7 installedon my Dell
desktop with WIN 2000 server and SP2 installed.
It failed to install CD Directory and therefore the Cisco
CallManager.
I suspect that I do need the SQL 7 manually installed prior to the Call manager installation.
I used the CallManager file 3.1 of the Cisco web page.

I tried this reg file ... but now I launch ciscocm-ffu.3-2-1.exe, it decompress files but when it tried to launch stistage.exe, there is an error that say : this is just an upgrade of ccm, and u have to install CCM before.
Is this file just an upgrade ? A friend says me that we can install CCM using this file using an option, but we doesn't know which option to use.
Can someone help me ?
Thanks
Stephane

That file will not work (to my knowledge) you need the original CCM cd, because it has all your extras (SQL, stibackup, etc...) ALSO FYI, on the newer CCM cd's it installs SQL for you...

Hi, Buckweet,
I copie the file in notepad exactly as you have displayed it above and then tried to import it into the registery. I keep getting an error from the registery indicating that it is not a registery script. What should I do now? I also tried to edit the reg file with the file information you provided and thqt did not work either. I must be doing something wrong. Please advise. thanks, Intuity.

Anyone figure this out for CCm 3.3(4)?
paspas (TechnicalUser) Sep 16, 2004
dpagie,
You have to install 3.3.2 in "that" way, and after to update to 3.3.(4c)
It is a ciscocm.3-3-2-spB.exe file that will add to your callmanager new features like recognizing new phone models(7905, 7970 and conference station)
I have 3.3(4c) running in my machine and it works.
Hope it helps,

so i belive the process is to install W2k server + service pack2 and CCM 3.3(4c). this CCM will install SQL

I made a little packet with reg files and install instructions for people to download. Works for CCM 3.3(3) and 4.0. It should work for earlier versions but I have not tested it.

I disagree with those install instructions, you do not install SQL yourself.. Let the CCM Install application do the SQL...

Hi, BuckWeet,
I am still having trouble installing CCM 3.3 on a Dell Optiplex system. I have installed W2K Server and applied Sp3 and IE6.1. then, I insert the hardware detection disk and it won't boot or auto start. I try to install SQl 7 manually but I can't find the executible file. Can you explain why this is happening and what to do about it.
thanks,
Intuity
PS I did figure out how to merge the Regedit files successfully so that is not a problem anymore.
BuckWeet (IS/IT--Manageme) Sep 22, 2004
1st Don't install SQL
2nd, use the CCM install cd, not the hardware detection disks..
You also need to make sure you run the OS upgrade..

Hi, BuckWeet,
Thank you very much for the information on installing CCM on any PC. I have alomst got it completely installed now and everything seems to be running smoothly. Thank you, Intuity.

Hey, BuckWeet,
I spoke too soon. I installed W2K Server, clicked on Windows update and installed all of the updates including IE6sp1. Then, I applied the Registry hack and then ran the Cisco OS\Bios upgrade CD. That ran fine. Then, I ran Cisco Call Manager cd and that ran fine. It prompted me to reboot which I did and then displayed the blue screen of death with the following error message Stop 0X0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_Or_Equal. Then it performs a physical memory dump and recyles this process. Do you have any ideas why this is happening and what should be done to fix it? thanks, Intuity
BuckWeet (IS/IT--Manageme) Sep 24, 2004
hrm, usually thats a driver issue..
rather interesting..
can you boot into safe mode?

Hi, BuckWeet,
I have strated over and this time am installing CCM 4.0 onto the Dell GX1 Optiplex Server. I loaded MS Server 2000 and then downloaded all of the updates and service packs from the MS Web site. I applied the Regedit files and then loaded CCM 4.0. It made it all the way until the end of the second install disc and indicated that Cisco DC Directory failed to install due to a failed remote procedure call. Do you have any suggestionson how to resolve this issue? Thanks, Intuity.
