Here is the Long reason why you are having problems installing:
Problem
I downloaded the two ZIP files from the download area and burned them into 2 CDs and tried to install, The installation CD1 runs OK, but then the installer asks for disk 2. I tried loading disk 2, but it won't recognize it.
I tried unzipping both files into a single folder and then burning a DVD so I could install from there, but the same problem persists, it asks for CD2.
Is there a way to burn media from the download ZIP files?
Solution / Workaround
QUICK ANSWER:
The download ZIP files were generated with early adopters and System Administrators in mind. It is not possible to burn CDs or a DVD from these 2 files (at least not directly), they need to be unzipped into a single folder in your hard drive and then you will be able to install ADS from that folder (see installation steps listed below).
LONG ANSWER:
The two zip files in the download area are built to allow "network installations" , "PC/LAN installations" and local installations only. What we did is, we split the installation into two files so they are easier to download. Upon succesful download, you are supposed to unzip both files, placing all the content into a single folder. Then go into that folder and run Setup.exe to install ADS.
If you create 2 separate CDs out of the contents of these files, the first CD will allow you to run the installer, but when the installer request CD2, the second CD (created from the second ZIP file) is not recognized (that's because it doesn't have a set of ID files needed to create installation CD2)
Unzipping the files into a single folder and then creating a DVD will not work either, the same message will pop up requesting installation CD2 half way through the installation, and ejecting and reinserting the DVD will not advance the installation.
Why is this happening? it's because the InstallShield program has a "Installation Media" setting that triggers if it detects that Setup.exe is in a CD or DVD, thus using CDs or DVDs, triggers the request for CD2 when the installation reaches a certain mark. If you wish to distribute ADS in media format, ask your users to copy the contents of the CDs/DVD to their local hard drive and install from there (the hard drive is not recognized as "media" by InstallShield), following the same steps as installing from the download website:
Important: The contents of the two ADS PC installation Zip files must be copied into the cdrom folder shown in this example.
Download both PC zip installation files
Create a folder called cdrom, for example C:\cdrom
Unzip the contents of ads310r400_win32_DISK1.zip into the folder cdrom
Unzip the contents of ads310r400_win32_DISK2.zip into the same folder cdrom
A message indicating that the file hdd32.exe is already present will pop up, click yes to overwrite
Run C:\cdrom\setup.exe and run the normal installation described in the ADS installation manual
