Here it is the procedure that I used for the installation
1. Install the Abaqus documentation (DVD 2), you don't need license or anything.
2. Look for "abaqus69.dat" in Shooters folder (DVD 1). Open the file with WordPad and change "this_host" (in the first line) for your computer name.
3. Start the installation of Abaqus as you'll normally do. In the first steps of the installation it prompts you to install the license utility;
there are two options install and start license server or just install it. Pick the second one.
4. After you install license utility you'll be asked to install the product (Abaqus); stop right there.
5. Copy the abaqus69.dat file in this directory: C:\SIMULIA\License\
6. Go to start > programs > Abaqus licensing > licensing utilities.
6. Go to: "Config Services":
**Name the service Abaqus
**Point the path to the lmgrd.exe (it should be: C:\SIMULIA\License\lmgrd.exe),
**Path to the license file: your modified abaqus69.dat (C:\SIMULIA\License\abaqus69.dat)
**Point to the Abaqus log file (C:\SIMULIA\License\installation_info\Abaqus_FLEXnet_License_Server_InstallLog.log)
**Choose: Use services and start server at power up.
7. Go under "start stop reread", select the "Abaqus" server you just created and click on Start server.
I just modified the post that rolevsi did because it wasnt clear for me in the beginning. Hope it works for everyone.
