I AM writing this because A. I fucking HATE Cineform!... the tyrannical out-of-control capitalistic bastards. Even if you buy their software, you CANNOT make any changes to your system or reinstall, whatever, without having to contact them and get a NEW activation key from them EVERY time you reconfigure your system. In short, even after you purchase YOUR SOFTWARE, you still can't do anything with it without their say so. That just sucks!
B. Because obviously the crackers are either too STUPID or too LAZY to do it. The new versions of Aspect 5.x and Prospect/2K 3.x have been out for more than 6 months now and everyone has been virtually begging for a crack.
OK, this is not complicated. If you do what I say it WILL take a little initial effort, it will not be as convenient as a true crack, but you WILL be able to use Cineform Aspect/Prospect/2K HD for as long as you damn well please and never have to worry about the 15 day time limit. THIS WILL TAKE SOME INITIAL EFFORT! But it will be well worth it if you REALLY want to use this program.
****READ THIS ENTIRE PAPER THROUGH AT LEAST ONCE BEFORE YOU PROCEED****
NOTE: If you have already installed cineform and let its Trial period run down you will need to restore your system, reinstall Windows, whatever.
Step 1. DOWNLOAD (P2P) a program call ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE 10. You are going to be needing to make a FULL backup of your system hard drive. DON'T DO IT YET! Just download the program.
Step 2. Now install EVERYTHING you are going to need to do your video editing, like Premiere and whatever. Pretend as if you will never be able to install another app from this point forward. So make sure you have EVERYTHING you need installed NOW. (You WILL be able to install other things later if need be but you must do it in a certain way). Use another drive or an external drive as a path and storage for all your project and video files, especially Premiere. You do NOT want any of your project or video files on the C: drive!
Step 3. Use Acronis True Image to make a FULL backup of your hard drive. NOTE:! It is much better to create the Acronis bootable CD to do this with, rather than doing it while Windows is running!!! It is easy to make the Acronis boot CD so you can create a backup BEFORE Windows starts. This is important. You can never fully trust a backup that is made while the OS is running because Windows locks so many damn files. Make the boot CD with Acronis, put the CD in and run Acronis on boot, make the backup and reboot when process is finished. Now you have a full and complete backup of your hard drive (do not use drive C: as the storage location for the buckup btw! You should know that already!)
Step 4. NOW install whatever Cineform product you are going to use and use as normal.
Step 5. When the 15 day time limit is reached, just use Acronis again to RESTORE your hard drive from the backup you created in Step 3. When you restore the hard drive, you will once again be able to install Cineform and you will have the same 15 day limit.
*****IF YOU WANT TO INSTALL ADDITION PROGRAMS*****
You must do it RIGHT AFTER your have restored the hard drive (with Acronis) and *BEFORE* you install Cineform. And once the new program(s) are installed, you must make a NEW backup BEFORE you install Cineform again. I'm sure I don't have to explain why as it should be obvious.
One thing that will make this all a little easier is if you partition your hard drive into 2 hard drives, using something like Acronis Disk Director. **DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARTITION A DISK UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. Acronis makes it fairly easy but you still need to understand what you're doing so read the help files carefully if you're a n00b. So now you have a partition D: drive (or whatever it is) and you can create a dual boot system and have only your video editing apps on the D: drive. It's a little extra work but worth it if you do it. This will then be the only drive you have to back up.

**BACKGROUND**
I have tried everything. I have tried setting back the system clock everyday. It does work, but frankly it's a pain in the ass, and if you forget even one day to set back the clock, Cineform will RECOGNIZE what you've done and give you a message the you must set the system clock right or it will not run. So you're right back to the TRIAL countdown and with only X number of days left. I call this the QUICKSAND TRAP. Because the more you try to wiggle out, the further you sink or get "pulled in." It's a never ending cycle until you sink.
I have tried the best uninstallers that read every file and registry entry Cineform puts on your system while installing. It does not work. No matter how closely the install is monitored, Cineform puts some insideous shit on your system that the unistaller cannot remove.
The backup method of "cracking" this program also serves some other good purposes. First, once all the initial work is done, it really is the fastest and most convenient way to use (crack) the program without an actual crack. Depending on the size of your hard drive, it may take anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes to do a backup or restore. But for those of us who backup our drives daily anyway, it's no big deal. SECOND, you really SHOULD have a backup of your drive anyway. If you've never done this, you don't yet know the security you'll expereience from knowing your data is safe. It's just a good common sense practice for ANY user.
