Insert the license key into avast!4 this way:
1) If you didn't before, download the installation file of avast! 4 Home Edition
from the webpage http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1016.html
2) Double click the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.
3) After installation you will be prompted to restart your computer - restart
it.
4) After restart you will see the blue a-ball icon in your system tray, near
clock.
5) Right-click the blue icon representing the resident protection (a) in system
tray and choose "About avast!", or in simple interface choose MENU -> ABOUT
AVAST!.
6) Press the "License key" button in lower right corner.
7) Enter the license key into prepared text field.
8) Press OK.
It is recommended to update your virus database and program via the iAVS service
to ensure the best protection:
Right-click the blue icon representing the resident protection (a) in system
tray and choose UPDATING -> PROGRAM UPDATE and iAVS UPDATE. To update virus
database only You can just click on the "flash" icon in simple user interface.
An active Internet connection is necessary for the update process.
Future updates of virus database will be done automatically. The new updates of
software are announced by blue notification windows but you should run them
manually.
